Project overview

An intriguing and attractive product with a unique personal backstory, it was clear from the start that Love Millie needed to be all about brand and experience. It was not only intended to put a new clothing and accessory range into the public eye but also a new way of customising branded items to personal taste or as personalised gifts via an interactive online platform. Not as easy as it sounds (it’s fair to say we were challenged!) but the end result was well worth the effort.

What’s in a name?

Born from a daughter’s desire to give her friends special presents at Christmas, Love Millie came to us with an idea, a name and an icon. From this we developed a brand that is full of colour, vibrancy and fun, being careful at every stage to not lose the personal connection and personality invested in the project from the very beginning - to the extent that the text in the brand mark is actually based on a tracing of Millie’s own handwriting.

Immersive experience

The success of the project all hinged on the effectiveness of the online creating / buying process and this stage was even more deeply conceptualised than usual, from both technical and user points of view. The ‘custom creator’ functionality offers a simple, straightforward, visual platform that is quick and easy but, above all, fun. It is wrapped in a clear, emotive brand journey to enable a truly involving and immersive experience for parents and children alike.

Real world fun

A new product always requires effort to get noticed and accepted by the buying public. Eye-catching, engaging and motivational public-facing material is essential to create the necessary impact to make a splash and get the ball rolling. Love Millie’s print and digital assets extend the brand’s colour, emotion and sense of fun into the real world, emphasising what the product enables as much as the product itself in order to motivate instant engagement and rapport.
